Recap: Zachary Broncos vs. Liberty Magnet Patriots
The Zachary Broncos put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Liberty Magnet at home to the tune of 54-16. The result was nothing new for Zachary, who have now won five games by 36 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why Liberty Magnet lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jermiah Lutcher. Despite the final result, he rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Lutcher really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
Zachary's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.4 points per game. As for Liberty Magnet, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Zachary will head out on the road to face off against Catholic-B.R. at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic-B.R. knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Zachary likes a good challenge. As for Liberty Magnet, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Liberty Magnet in Louisiana (Central is ranked 31st, while Liberty Magnet is ranked 169th).
