Softball Recap: Uxbridge Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Uxbridge put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Millbury Woolies by a score of 5-1. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Woolies, too.

Erin O'Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lola Grube, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Bailey Dzivasen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Uxbridge pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Millbury, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
