Basketball Recap: Central Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Central faced off against Woodland on Monday. The Central Tigers managed a 54-48 win over the Woodland Cardinals. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 57-47 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Woodland, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Central will challenge Sikeston at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sikeston will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Woodland, they and Neelyville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
