Volleyball Game Preview: Siegel Stars vs. Blackman Blaze

The Siegel Stars will take on the Blackman Blaze at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Siegel is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Eagleville just ended the team's eight-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Stars have suffered since August 19th.

Siegel was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Eagleville work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 29-27, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Blackman entered their tilt with Oakland on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Patriots.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Blackman got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-6.

Siegel's defeat dropped their record down to 20-15. As for Blackman, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Siegel skirted past Blackman 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Blaze's Annabelle Grissom, who had 21 digs and five aces.
