Basketball Game Preview: Summit Academy Bears vs. American Heritage Patriots

The Summit Academy Bears will challenge the American Heritage Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Summit Academy has now lost 13 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 4.

Summit Academy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Judge Memorial Catholic on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Summit Academy lost 72-47 to Judge Memorial Catholic. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.

Meanwhile, American Heritage strolled past Judge Memorial Catholic with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 75-60.

American Heritage has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points per game. As for Summit Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Summit Academy came up short against American Heritage when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 97-91. Can Summit Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
