Basketball Preview: Auburndale Bloodhounds vs. Davenport Broncos
The Auburndale Bloodhounds will square off against the Davenport Broncos at TBD on Tuesday. Auburndale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Auburndale pushed their score all the way to 68 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 84-68 bruising from Sebring. While losing is never fun, Auburndale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 202nd).
Meanwhile, Davenport pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leesburg.
Auburndale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Davenport, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.
Auburndale beat the Broncos 55-46 when the teams last played last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Auburndale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
