Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Roy Royals

The Hillcrest Huskies will face off against the Roy Royals at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillcrest will be strutting in after a victory while Roy will be coming in after a loss.

Hillcrest is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 11-6 win over Judge Memorial Catholic on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Huskies considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Max Cannon was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-5. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Roman Wolf was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Cannon wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Roy came up short against Corner Canyon on Wednesday and fell 8-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Royals in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Roy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hillcrest, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.
