Basketball Recap: West Prairie's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hartsburg-Emden came into Friday's game looking for another win against West Prairie, but Braden Coplan wouldn't allow it. The West Prairie Cyclones walked away with a 71-61 victory over the Hartsburg-Emden Stags on Friday thanks in part to Coplan, who went 12 for 18 en route to 36 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of West Prairie's points.

Another player making a difference was Ryan Clark, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave him a new career-high.

With the win, West Prairie broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-12. As for Hartsburg-Emden, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

West Prairie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-35 defeat against Augusta Southeastern on the 27th. Hartsburg-Emden has also already played their next matchup, a 57-41 loss against Tri-City on the 31st.
