Baseball Game Preview: Immanuel Eagles vs. Kerman Lions

The Immanuel Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Kerman Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Immanuel is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Immanuel came up short against Sierra Pacific and fell 7-2.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Kerman and Central Valley Christian have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cavaliers, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won three in a row.

Giovanni Gastelum made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Daniel Lanfranco was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Kerman's record now sits at 12-8-1. As for Immanuel, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Immanuel might still be hurting after the 15-2 loss they got from Kerman in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
