Softball Recap: Bourgeois Starts Season with Win Against John Ehret

Bourgeois gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They never let the John Ehret Patriots onto the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Brylie Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.

In other pitching news, Bourgeois got a great performance from Aubre Fuller as she didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit over 4.2 innings pitched.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Adison Savoie, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Serenity Carroll, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Looking ahead, Bourgeois will welcome A.J. Ellender at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. John Ehret has already played their next game (against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
