Recap: Flour Bluff Hornets vs. Corpus Christi Moody Trojans
In what's become a running theme this season, the Flour Bluff Hornets gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Corpus Christi Moody, posting a 63-30 win at home. The win was familiar territory for Flour Bluff who now have five in a row.
Despite the loss, Corpus Christi Moody saw an underclassman step up: Raelene Avalos scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Avalos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.
Flour Bluff's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
Flour Bluff will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. Corpus Christi Moody does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
