Basketball Recap: Weaubleau Comes Up Short

Weaubleau was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. The match between them and the Sheldon Panthers didn't end well, with the Weaubleau Tigers falling 51-33. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.

Sheldon was led to victory by Wynsdae Connelly and Mariam Lamb. Connelly posted 26 points and four steals, while Lamb dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Connelly a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Staudt, who earned two points and ten rebounds.

Weaubleau's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Sheldon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Weaubleau Tigers take on the Warsaw Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sheldon, they will venture away from home to take on Everton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
