Appling County extends road losing streak to 13

Recap: Appling County Pirates vs. Pierce County Bears

This season hasn't been kind to the Appling County Pirates, who are still winless after their 15th game. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pierce County on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Appling County in their matchups with Pierce County: they've now lost four in a row.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lj Nance, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Bryant Carter, who scored ten points.

Appling County bumped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pierce County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-9.

Appling County will head out on the road to challenge Vidalia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vidalia is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. Pierce County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Brantley County at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th.
