Basketball Game Preview: Salmen Spartans vs. Booker T. Washington Lions

For the second week in a row, Salmen is taking on Booker T. Washington. The Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Salmen has three straight victories, Booker T. Washington has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Salmen had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 34-point drubbing they dealt Booker T. Washington on Tuesday. The Spartans claimed a resounding 58-24 win over the Lions. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Salmen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Akayla Mcmooain, who went 10-for-23 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The game was Mcmooain's third in a row with at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Thomas, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Salmen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 20 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Salmen's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Booker T. Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
