On Thursday, North Raleigh Christian Academy faced Cannon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Cannon Cougars. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row.

North Raleigh Christian Academy never let Cannon on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-21.

North Raleigh Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brook Watkins out in front who had 12 digs and 26 assists. Watkins is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in the last 32 games she's played dating back to last season. Kyla Artlip was another key player, getting 17 digs.

Despite the defeat, Cannon saw an underclassman step up: Emmi Coppa had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Coppa has posted since back in September.

North Raleigh Christian Academy pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Cannon, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

North Raleigh Christian Academy and Wesleyan Christian Academy are set to duel on Tuesday. Wesleyan Christian Academy will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something North Raleigh Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
