Recap: Raymond Central Mustangs vs. Yutan Chieftains

The Raymond Central Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 48-33 fall against Yutan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Raymond Central in their matchups with the Chieftains: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Raymond Central saw an underclassman step up: Tavion Johnson scored 12 points. Reid Otto was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds.

Raymond Central dropped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Yutan, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raymond Central will take on the Cougars at TBD on Tuesday. Conestoga presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in Nebraska (the Cougars are ranked 40th, while the Mustangs are ranked 247th). As for Yutan, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
