Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Riordan Crusaders vs. Valley Christian Warriors

Archbishop Riordan is 0-10 against Valley Christian since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Crusaders will venture away from home to take on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m.

Archbishop Riordan is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Saint Francis, falling 8-2.

Keoni Ordonez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Monarchs a 3-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Rohan Kasanagottu's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Fujimoto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Nathan Choi, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Archbishop Riordan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12-1.
