Basketball Recap: Normandy Comes Up Short

Normandy's last matchup with Rocky River could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Invaders were beaten by the Pirates 57-30. The matchup marked the Invaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rocky River got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elizabeth Lang out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. What's more, Lang also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nora Bruder, who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Normandy and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Rocky River, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Normandy is set to take on their familiar foe Lakewood at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Rocky River will face off against rival Bay at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
