Recap: Tumwater Thunderbirds vs. Ridgefield Spudders

The Tumwater Thunderbirds put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Ridgefield 55-13 at home. Considering Tumwater has won ten contests by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Tumwater found their leader in underclassman Peyton Davis, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Davis really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

Despite the defeat, Ridgefield had strong showings from Noah Stromberg, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Cly Stephens, who gained 69 total yards and a touchdown.

Tumwater pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Burlington-Edison and 1-8 Centralia (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.2% over those games). As for Ridgefield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Tumwater will look to defend their home field on Friday against Port Angeles at 7:00 p.m. Port Angeles will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Tumwater is ranked 13th). Ridgefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
