Softball Recap: Redbank Valley Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Curwensville, Redbank Valley was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals 3-2. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 5-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mackenzie Foringer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, Redbank Valley's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Keyauna Schimp, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Schimp has posted since back in April of 2024.

The win got Redbank Valley back to even at 1-1. As for DuBois Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Redbank Valley will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Moniteau at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for DuBois Central Catholic, they will challenge Kane at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Cardinals' favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Wolves have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
