Soccer Recap: Green Hope Takes a Loss

Green Hope was the 3-0 winner over Sanderson when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Green Hope can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Sanderson are ranked 106th).

Kelcey Morris and Paige Luecke scored both of Green Hope's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Green Hope has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14-2 record this season. As for Sanderson, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.

Green Hope wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Apex on the 6th. As for Sanderson, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Leesville Road on the 5th.
