Basketball Recap: River Hill Drops Season-High Score on Long Reach

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Hill). They came out on top against the Long Reach Lightning by a score of 75-64 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Lightning back in December of 2024, they had to take a 71-68 defeat.

River Hill had a senior duo take command as Justin Bishop went 10-for-16 en route to 27 points and Nicholas Kogut went 8-for-15 on his way to 21 points and eight boards. Bishop's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anderson Dang, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

River Hill's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Long Reach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Hill will face off against Old Mill at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Long Reach, they will challenge Broadneck at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Long Reach is facing Broadneck at the right time seeing as Broadneck is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
