It's playoff time, and Coral Springs Charter had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the St. Brendan Sabres get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Tuesday. The Panthers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight.
Courtney Wahlbrink made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gio Gurgel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Heather Robertson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Coral Springs Charter pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.1 runs. As for St. Brendan, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
