Basketball Recap: GRACE Christian Takes a Loss

GRACE Christian was the 43-27 winner over Cary Christian when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The GRACE Christian Eagles took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cary Christian Knights on Monday.

Cary Christian was led to victory by Noah Bell Yamamura and Leah Holmes. Yamamura posted nine points and three steals, while Holmes had ten points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Yamamura a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Caroline Cochran, who earned five points in addition to five boards and three steals.

GRACE Christian's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Cary Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

GRACE Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 34-30 victory against Wake Christian Academy on the 4th. Cary Christian has also already played their next contest (against Trinity Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
