Baseball Recap: Springstead Takes a Loss

While it was Springstead who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Florida Christian who put up more. Springstead fell just short of Florida Christian by a score of 3-2.

Nathaniel Sabino was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Marsh, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Springstead's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Florida Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Springstead didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-3 loss against Doral Academy on the 22nd. As for Florida Christian, they will square off against Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Florida Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
