Basketball Recap: Crystal City Takes a Loss

Crystal City lost against Grandview back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Crystal City Hornets were beaten by the Grandview Eagles 64-35. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.

Crystal City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maya Hankins, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds, and Addison Bova, who posted 13 points and three steals. That was a full 37.1% of Crystal City's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

This is the second loss in a row for Crystal City and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Grandview, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Crystal City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-36 victory against Bishop DuBourg on the 24th. As for Grandview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 46-32 win against Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience on the 24th.
