Softball Recap: Toppenish Comes Up Short

Toppenish extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-8. They came up short against the Ephrata Tigers, falling 28-8. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 20-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Ephrata, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

For Ephrata's part, Ella Piturachsatit was a standout: she went 5-for-6 with six RBI, four runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Piturachsatit a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Durfee, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ephrata beat Toppenish by a score of 24-3 later that day.
