Brighton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bolivar Central Tigers a 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Leah Finley, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Kristyn Sutphin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Brighton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bolivar Central only posted a batting average of .222.

Brighton's record now sits at 14-6. As for Bolivar Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will welcome Fayette Ware at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bolivar Central, they will square off against Lakeland Preparatory at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
