Softball Recap: Phillips Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Phillips played against Foreman on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Anaja Porterfield was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Welnesha Hall, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Phillips, bringing their record up to 14-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Foreman, they moved to 7-3-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Phillips wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-6 defeat against Cristo Rey Jesuit on the 22nd. Foreman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
