Softball Recap: Selah Vikings vs. Hanford Falcons

Selah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the Hanford Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Selah of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Selah saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piper Staub, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

On Hanford's side, Heidi Sweet made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Selah will be playing in front of their home fans against West Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hanford, they will head out on the road to face off against Pasco at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hanford is facing Pasco at the right time seeing as Pasco is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
