Basketball Recap: Druid Hills Red Devils vs. Central Lions

After flying high against Clarkston last Tuesday, Druid Hills came back down to earth. The Druid Hills Red Devils had to suffer through a 79-37 loss at the hands of the Central Lions. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Lions are ranked 78th).

Leading Central to victory were Khaven Cochran and Chace North. Cochran went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points plus five assists and five rebounds, while North went 10 for 14 en route to 22 points. What's more, North also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in January. Connor Williams was another key player, earning six points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Druid Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Druid Hills will square off against North Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Druid Hills is facing North Springs at the right time seeing as North Springs is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Central has already played their next contest, a 64-49 victory against Lovett on the 7th.
