Basketball Recap: Barr-Reeve Triumphs

If Eastern Greene wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Barr-Reeve, they should've done a better job of containing Seth Wagler. The Barr-Reeve Vikings took down the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds 59-44 on Friday thanks in part to Wagler, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game.

Another player making a difference was Landon Miller, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Eastern Greene lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Coby Sykes, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyan Hudson, who put up 15 points.

The victory got Barr-Reeve back to even at 4-4. As for Eastern Greene, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.

Barr-Reeve wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-45 win against Springs Valley on the 4th. As for Eastern Greene, they will venture away from home to square off against North Daviess at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Eastern Greene is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.
