Volleyball Recap: Hinsdale Central Takes a Loss

Hinsdale Central lost against Downers Grove North back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Hinsdale Central sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 25-18.

Nora Bergin paced Hinsdale Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Bergin got some help from Caitlin Leddy and her 16 assists. Leddy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Hinsdale Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Downers Grove North, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Hinsdale Central will host Wheaton North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Downers Grove North, they are taking a road trip to challenge Downers Grove South at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
