Recap: Overhills Jaguars vs. Eastern Randolph Wildcats
On Friday, Overhills came up short against Eastern Randolph and fell 66-53.
Despite the loss, Overhills still got an impressive performance from Matthew Poston, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The game was Poston's third in a row with at least ten points. Ej Stokes was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Eastern Randolph was led to victory by William Stalker and Timothy Brower. Stalker dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Brower scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Stalker is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Overhills now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Eastern Randolph, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Overhills and Western Harnett will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Western Harnett comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Eastern Randolph and Asheboro will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Asheboro's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
