Basketball Recap: Colton-Pierrepont Colts vs. Madrid-Waddington Yellowjackets
The Colton-Pierrepont Colts had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Madrid-Waddington 53-35 on Wednesday. Colton-Pierrepont pushed the score to 46-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Yellowjackets cut but never quite recovered from.
Colton-Pierrepont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Smith out in front who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Ty Farns was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Colton-Pierrepont's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Madrid-Waddington, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colton-Pierrepont will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madrid-Waddington, they will head out on the road to square off against the Lumberjacks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
