Football Recap: East Forsyth Broncos vs. Eastside Eagles

A win for East Forsyth just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They took a blow against the Eastside Eagles, falling 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Eagles are ranked 27th).

Brock Szakacs threw for 132 yards on 14 of 25 attempts. Andrew Frank was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Parker Standridge rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Payton Shaw was nothing short of spectacular for Eastside: he threw for 236 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. Eastside also got a significant boost from Myles Mims, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.

East Forsyth's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Eastside, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

East Forsyth will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st. As for Eastside, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 62-10 win against Cedar Shoals on the 24th.
