Shawnee proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Graham Local Falcons. Given Shawnee's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Graham Local are ranked 351st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hadley Mattern and Josie Sanford-Schmenk scored all three of Shawnee's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 12-2-2. As for Graham Local, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10-1.

Shawnee didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Stebbins on the 11th. As for Graham Local, they will be playing at home against Indian Lake at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th.
