Basketball Recap: Caden Collins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Great Hearts Northern Oaks over Cornerstone Christian

Great Hearts Northern Oaks lost against Cornerstone Christian back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins lost to the Cornerstone Christian Warriors on the road by a 85-70 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), the Griffins still had to take the loss.

Great Hearts Northern Oaks' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Collins, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Collins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Michael Glowe was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

It was another big night for Benjamin Wagner, who went 14 of 18 on his way to 35 points and eight rebounds for Cornerstone Christian. The dominant performance gave Wagner a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Parra, who posted 14 points and six assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Great Hearts Northern Oaks and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Cornerstone Christian, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.
