Softball Recap: Marion Local Flyers vs. Wayne Trace Raiders
Marion Local was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of the Wayne Trace Raiders by a score of 5-4.
Haley Everman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Allison Dirksen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Rindler, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Marion Local's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Wayne Trace, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
