Softball Recap: Baker Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Baker's offense. They fell just short of the Wicksburg Panthers by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

KATLYN CONE was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Baker's loss dropped their record down to 20-11-1. As for Wicksburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10.

Coincidentally, Baker and Wicksburg will both be playing Belgreen the next time they take the field. The Hornets will head out to face the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
