Basketball Recap: Humboldt Vikings vs. Covington Chargers
Humboldt won the last time they faced Covington and things went their way on Saturday too. The Humboldt Vikings snuck past the Covington Chargers with a 50-45 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Covington lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being TaNya Flowers, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. TaKyra Boddie was another key player, putting up 16 points and six rebounds.
Humboldt's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8. As for Covington, they moved to 7-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Humboldt has already played their next game (against West Carroll), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Covington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-45 loss against Millington Central on the 21st.
