Football Recap: Jefferson County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Jefferson County extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Dublin Fighting Irish and fell 42-13. On the bright side, the 13- point performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring matchup to date.

As for Dublin, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.8 points on average over those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Travion Bostic and Dontavious Cannon. Bostic rushed for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries while Cannon rushed for 83 yards and one score. What's more, Bostic posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Bennett Lake got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Jefferson County will challenge rival Bleckley County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dublin is set to take on their familiar foe Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Fighting Irish 10.8, the Raiders 8.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
