Baseball Recap: Mount Si Takes a Loss

Mount Si was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kentridge Chargers.

Mount Si got a good showing from Jacob Hayes, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hayes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Mount Si saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Krasowski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Eddie Coons was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Mount Si's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Kentridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

Mount Si will be playing at home against Lake Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kentridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Tahoma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
