Baseball Recap: Fredericksburg Christian Comes Up Short

Fredericksburg Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against The Covenant, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against The Covenant this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-9 back in March.

Fredericksburg Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Mead, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Fredericksburg Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-11-1. As for The Covenant, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fredericksburg Christian will challenge Grace Christian School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Kings have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for The Covenant, they will take on Hargrave Military Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
