Byron Center came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Saline Hornets.

Byron Center saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Bainbridge, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Alex Wauben, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Byron Center's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Saline, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-5-1 record.
