Preview: Central Bucks South Titans vs. Spring-Ford Rams
Central Bucks South has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Spring-Ford Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Central Bucks South is ranked 24th, while Spring-Ford is ranked 25th).
Last Friday, Central Bucks South won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Coatesville 21-20.
Anthony Leonardi was his usual excellent self, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while also picking up 65 receiving yards. Leonardi was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Chase Baratz was in the mix as well, providing Central Bucks South with three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Spring-Ford's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 42-35 victory over North Penn. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Spring-Ford can attribute much of their success to Mason Scott, who picked up 204 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Matt Zollers, who threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt. Zollers hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games.
Central Bucks South pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Abington and 1-9 Harry S. Truman (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.3% over those games). As for Spring-Ford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Central Bucks South commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Spring-Ford struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.5 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
