Volleyball Recap: Petal Has No Trouble Against Meridian

Petal had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Meridian on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Wildcats 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Petal walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-7, 25-16.

Petal's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Meridian, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Petal will challenge rival Pearl at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Meridian is set to face off against their familiar foe Oak Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
