Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Academy Takes a Loss

Fayetteville Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Riverside Christian Academy Royals, falling 72-19. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Daraji Harris continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Riverside Christian Academy, going 8 for 9 on her way to 21 points and five steals. Harris has become a key player for Riverside Christian Academy: the team is 5-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brelyn Miller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Fayetteville Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Riverside Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
