Volleyball Recap: Ejaykeoni Lumanlan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mira Mesa over the Cambridge School

Mira Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to The Cambridge School Griffins.

Mira Mesa was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly three points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Mira Mesa's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ejaykeoni Lumanlan, who had 12 digs and three aces. The dominant performance gave Lumanlan a new career-high in digs.

Mira Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for The Cambridge School, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Mesa will square off against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Cambridge School, they will face off against Great Oak at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Great Oak will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something The Cambridge School surely won't give up without a fight.
