Basketball Game Preview: Newcomerstown Trojans vs. Garaway Pirates

Newcomerstown is 1-9 against Garaway since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Newcomerstown Trojans will welcome the Garaway Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Newcomerstown is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Tuscarawas Central Catholic with an 83-79 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Garaway beat Ridgewood 64-55 on Tuesday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Generals are ranked 569th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
